an early summer day. we were lying in the sun. surrounded by pretty flowers. and he said, I could die here right now. and I secretly thought the same.

now, a couple of weeks later, I’m left alone with my fears. so many of them. paralysing me. I thought there was no such thins as fearing your own fears, but I’ve been proven wrong.

there is this thing I really want to make happen. instead, I stay nestled in my very own fortress. hiding from the rest of the world.

this is about to change. I’m off to work on the business plan. wish me luck. x

no matter how eager I am to go back to London, I must admit I’m quite enjoying the quiet moments I spend here.

my flight was supposed to leave early this morning, and now I won’t be able to catch a train for England before this wednesday.

in the meantime, I’m clearly hanging out with the coolest kid ever: peanut. we’re both lying in the grass and monkeying around.

wounds seem to heal nicely this way. and it feels good to painlessly breath again without the tears.

ps. I have three rolls of film waiting to be developed. it’s going to be fun.

a lot has happened lately. in fact, it’s been a lot more than I can handle. so I decided to take a week off and fly to France.

I’m now ready to go back to London for more exciting adventures. at least, that’s what I want to be thinking.

for now, I’ll just stick to this and pretend I actually feel like smiling about it all.

this is exactly where I want to be right now. it would be a long week end off. an escapade from the city, with my favourite person, enough wine for three days, a tepee, some lovely food (preferably avocado and chilies).

the sun would be just warm enough. and we would lie in the grass all day long, not noticing the sky turning blue. in fact, we wouldn’t even see the difference between me and you.

as you may know, I have a bit of an obsession with botanical plates and herbariums. I find those neatly arranged collections very inspiring.

and I have the feeling you do too. I hence thought I would share these mind-blowing illustrations from La flore des environs de Paris, a 1776 book.

the vintage printable website is possibly my favourite of the year. and I won’t dare to count the hours that will be spent browsing through the plethora of gorgeous imaging.

hello there, it’s been a while. a too-long while. I miss this journal so much, just like I miss taking daily pictures or exploring London with Guillaume.

but last week, I found an old roll of film and Guillaume got it developed only to find pictures from a day we spent somewhere in the mountains, sometime around november, with that someone I am in like with.

it was the most perfect day. and we now need to make everything so those kind of days repeat over and over. everything might include finding another – less interesting yet less time-consuming – job.

decisions, decisions.

I somehow meant to talk about the weekend we spent in the mountains and that happened to last – sligtly – more than five days (since some rocks blocked the road, leaving stuck up there for an extra couple of days).

then time got in the way. so did paperworks.

moving to another country is exciting. opening an international bank account isn’t.

anyway, I shall be sharing the weekender edition soonish.x

yesterday, I came across this gorgeous children dictionary at a friend’s house, and found the collection panels very inspiring.

especially the minerals.

here is a visual (and chronological) summary of the twenty four hour week end Guillaume and I spent in Saorge, a tiny village just a couple of kilometres away from the Italian border.

I really wish I had taken more pictures.

it was such a special week end. on the night we arrived we were invited to an indie concert in an abandoned house.

the next day, we woke up to the sun and stay in bed for an hour or two, laughing and kissing. and then, the chestnut hunt begun.

oh Saorge, I love you. really, I’ve never seen a place that’s so out of actual timeline. it just feels like we’re back to the seventies. xo

yesterday I went on a bike promenade across the marais [morass (?)]. with my camera and enough water to keep on riding for a solid hour.

I took a little path, met some cows and a pretty escargot [snail]. at the end of the road sat a small fortress. I really wish I had the keys because it looked pretty pretty.

as soon as I got back home, I couldn’t wait to edit the pictures I had just taken. I just wanted to give them an old film look. this is usually not something I’m in love with – I heart film too much to produce fakes -, but this time, I felt like experiencing.

I must admit I’m smitten with how these turn out. so smitten in fact, that I’ve put up a sweet how-to together. nothing fancy, just a couple of comparison shots. and a link to the greatest analog-like picture creator software.

now, I’m going to make the most of the short (not so) sunny interval by going for a walk with my little sister. this time it’s going to be about house spying.
