my room is quite a mess. but instead of the planned tidy-up, I ended up staying in bed all day.

listening to beautiful music, looking at some lovely book, writing in my journal, talking to a favourite friend, eating pan-fried gnocchi, and rather evidently, looking at my feet.

the cameras on my bed will have to wait a little before they find a neat place!

it’s been a while since the last hello monday. and to be honest the couple past mondays have been less than great, as in break-up less than great.

but today already feels perfect. I took our bunny peanut into the garden. he just loves being in the grass and eating too many flowers.

later, I will go for lunch on the beach with a new friend, get some new pied-de-poule pants for work, and help my sister on her poetry report.

no matter how eager I am to go back to London, I must admit I’m quite enjoying the quiet moments I spend here.

my flight was supposed to leave early this morning, and now I won’t be able to catch a train for England before this wednesday.

in the meantime, I’m clearly hanging out with the coolest kid ever: peanut. we’re both lying in the grass and monkeying around.

wounds seem to heal nicely this way. and it feels good to painlessly breath again without the tears.

how lazily are you spending your Sunday?

ps. I have three rolls of film waiting to be developed. it’s going to be fun.

the planned unwinding took place sooner than expected as I woke up early this morning only to find myself too sick to go to work.

in between naps, I found the time to take a couple of polaroid pictures, experimenting with this film.
having removed the ND2 filter of the electric eye ages ago, I had to make up for it by using sunglasses. and it’s quite tricky. I need a new filter.

the sound of the shutter had an instant effect on me. it makes me happy. I love film. and polaroid cameras.

thanks for all the wishes. you are just so adorable. I wish I could all invite you here, in our small flat, and we could have tea with homemade scones and jam.

this seems highly unlikely to happen, but the least I can do is to show you our latest home improvement: a clouds polaroid heart with our much-loved Habitat analog clock + the gorgeous krakatoa poster from Elisabeth.

Guillaume and I are somewhat settled now. we love our flat, right in the heart of Notting Hill. we already have our favourite pub that makes the best food ever, and serves some damn spicy bloody mary.

instant love.

I also found a job which I really like although it’s far from what I’m used to. think patisserie for rainbow little ponies. the team I work with is fantastic, and I can’t help but feel happy when I walk back home with my fingers stained from touching blue food colouring.

although most of the day got spent on stuff-packing (yes, we are finally moving to London – like TOMORROW) – which I don’t particularly enjoy (and that’s and understatement) – we had the best surprises.

a new member of the family. please welcome Mister Peanut, possibly the sweetest bunny ever.

a gorgeous poster sent all the way from Sweden. oh yes, that one, made by Elisabeth for Studio Violet.

a pretty pile of lost polaroid pictures that will go straight onto our Kensington-flat naked walls.

a white guirlande, for the tree we’re planning on buying tomorrow night. any tips for buying Christmas trees in London? please.

an amazing one-colour-a-month Moleskine daily diary. I just can’t wait for 2010 to begin! let’s not rush though.

hope you had lovely surprises too on this Friday that marks a new beginning for me. I might not be able to post for a while, but I’ll make sure to think about you every day.

in exactly one week, we’ll be sleeping in our new flat. in London. right now, we’re more excited than jumping bunnies.

the fact that Christmas is around might have something to do with it as well. in fact, we’ve already planned to rush to a Christmas tree patch and get one, on the day we arrive.

it will have handmade ornaments like a paper garland, frosted cinnamon biscuits, and wool pompoms.
