flowers on a sunny London morning.

once again, the clouds have disappeared, and I have the feeling that today is going to be lovely.

it’s mothering sunday here, so for lunch we’re offering a special menu at the restaurant. and the dessert is deliciously simple: an apple tarte fine with vanilla icecream.

bonne fête maman! and have a nice sunday. x

food, journalin my kitchen {4}

green seems to be everywhere. from the onion bulb that has started germinating, to the matcha green tea brioches that are currently rising slightly more than I expected in the oven.

spring is close. and I’m excited.

for the first time in weeks, I feel that spring is just around the corner. today we woke up to a bright sun, blue sky, and no rain.

nothing feels better than a sunny day. or maybe a couple of things does, like:
one. being offered a lollipop by a new friend, in my absolute favourite flavour which I never mentioned to him.
two. spending a day off with my boyfriend, exploring china town and having one too many bubble tea.
three. getting a roll of film developed.

those three point pretty much sums up my past week. let’s hope this one is going to turn out even better!

happy march.

inspirationla flore des environs de paris {3}

as you may know, I have a bit of an obsession with botanical plates and herbariums. I find those neatly arranged collections very inspiring.

and I have the feeling you do too. I hence thought I would share these mind-blowing illustrations from La flore des environs de Paris, a 1776 book.

the vintage printable website is possibly my favourite of the year. and I won’t dare to count the hours that will be spent browsing through the plethora of gorgeous imaging.

hello there, it’s been a while. a too-long while. I miss this journal so much, just like I miss taking daily pictures or exploring London with Guillaume.

but last week, I found an old roll of film and Guillaume got it developed only to find pictures from a day we spent somewhere in the mountains, sometime around november, with that someone I am in like with.

it was the most perfect day. and we now need to make everything so those kind of days repeat over and over. everything might include finding another – less interesting yet less time-consuming – job.

decisions, decisions.

what is new on your side of the world?

bland flowers

as promised here are a couple of pictures from friday’s road trip to the mountains.

I spent time taking pictures of the pretty mountain flowers, and collecting pine cones for a christmas advent calendar project.

but I must have felt something because as soon as I reached my car, a lightning bolt flashed close to the road. it was a surreal experience to see the flash and hear the rumble at the same time.

one thing is for sure. the girl will not go back to the mountains by herself. luckily, she has mountain friendly friends. in facts she spent the following week end near the Italian border, in the Alps.

what did you do this week end? I picked chestnuts with my boyfriend and did so much more, but I shall save some for tomorrow’s post. xx

journalone more chance {5}

after – what feels like – days and days of hard (six am to six pm) work, I’ve finally gotten the chance to settle in my bed on this saturday morning to tell you the good news.

1. guillaume will be taking his BTM (advanced pastry diploma) this upcoming monday, and he’s lucky enough to have me as a commis.
2. the days are getting shorter. and it’s been heavily pouring for the past few days.
3. thunder and lightnings woke me up last night. oh autumn, I love you.

so we still have a lot to do for his exam. recipe cards, organisation… and SO much more. hence the quietness around here for the upcoming week end. hope it will be an exciting one for you.

I’ll see you next week with a daily feature about my favourite blogs. x

early autumn

yesterday, if it wasn’t for the thirty-two celsius degrees temperature, I could have believed autumn was here already.

it’s all about the light. mutted tones. and yellow colours.

oh, autumn, I’m waiting for you and your rainy days, filled with cookie-baking, scarf-knitting, and cosy boyfriend-snuggling.

hopes • feel better soon, be able to go to work tomorrow, and get to sleep early tonight.

wishes • be at home right now, take more pictures with my new favourite film camera, and fast forward to this october.

somehow, my kidney still hurt. it feels like a very painful stitch. and nothing really make me feel any better. sad days. although, I have to admit that looking at pretty pictures from home does soothe me a little.

I’m off to bed now, hoping for an early four-am wake-up tomorrow. going back to work rocks. let’s cross your fingers for me.

hello friends, I should be getting ready for some weekend action, but I apparently just woke up. I’ll be back on monday or tuesday.

I’m packing my pentax camera, as well as my go-to canon, and a couple of dresses.

this is going to be fun fun. xx fanny.
