posts from pretty days

an early winter

hello hello my friends. the thesis is now officialy turned it, leaving me with nothing to do except get my oral presentation ready.

here is a little poster I made for a baby girl.

as a side note, I can’t wait to go bak home and have a little bedroom makeover. I’m totally planning on paiting a naive mountain landscape onto one of the walls.

plus tard

almost a year ago, I took a cool test which really got a finger on how I really am (after all, the test is eleven-page long).

today, I thought it was time to check whether this was still true or not. had my personnality changed over the past - and eventful - year?
not so much, apparently.

I’m still an attentive creator.

a very special sunday

polaroids make me happy. always have and always will. so far, it’s all old news. but this project I’m working on at the moment makes me fall in love with polaroid pictures all over again.

I can’t say more for the moment; but it involves: a polaroid camera, the sky, a notebook and a stamp. one hundred days. and lots of love.
I so can’t wait for it to come together.

secondly, I’ve just received Jen’s beautiful For the love of light book. every page of it is gorgeous and reflects how I feel about polaroids.

have a lovely week end.

fetishism, five

paper pda
10 x 15 cm - paper, recycled cardboard and enveloppes

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

when I came across PoIC last monday, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the concept. a pile of index cards as a paper pda.
I knew I was going to give it a go. and I did. the following day, a pattern I had made got printed, cardboard was cut, so were enveloppes. a couple of sticks of glue later, I had my pocket folder.

now, I really have the feeling that PoIC is a form of fetishism. by documenting my life on those cards, I make them carry a special meaning. they obviously become pieces of me; seconds of my own life.

ever

I have the coolest friends ever. D. always emails me a selection of songs his current playlist plays; most of the time, I like them too.

today he sent me the boy by the smashing pumpkins - which I usually don’t fancy that much, but damn, he was right, this is a cool song. and a live of the old favourite drain you by nirvana.
it always amazes me how certain songs reminds you of pieces of your own life because you used to listened to them at that exact time. anyway, this song. that’s what keeps me going as I’m working on a very exciting project.

yesterday

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

longest week end of the year. lazily spent at my grand-parent’s house. endless bike rides across the fields and along the beach coast. clafoutis making. book reading. and olympic games watching.
I’m glad to be back, but wish it could have lasted just a little longer.

I tried to tweak my pictures to give them a slight film look and feel. not sure I got it right, but I happen to like it.

loud

okay, so I’m pretty happy for a couple of reasons. one of them being that I can now put some music onto this blog; which is something I’m smitten about.

nada surf has always been one of my favourite bands. I got their second cd as I was 12 and have been listening to it pretty much everyday since then.
so in love.

what about the other reasons? oh, well, I’m such a troublemaker; which at this exact moment makes me super*yeah.

sunday*morning

it’s been so quiet around here for the past couple of hours. my mum and sister just left after spending the past few days with me.

it was so nice to get to enjoy their company; plus we had so much fun.
on saturday, my sister and I made this sweet soft-toy. my sister drew it and chose the fabric. while I got to have some sewing-machine action.

this is the cutest ugly little person I’ve ever graced my eyes to see.
