green seems to be everywhere. from the onion bulb that has started germinating, to the matcha green tea brioches that are currently rising slightly more than I expected in the oven.

spring is close. and I’m excited.

I spent most of my night analysing the folding techniques of japanese pastries since I’ve planned to make matcha brioches tomorrow.

quite obviously, by looking at the gorgeous blogs, I had a sudden urge to redesign mine; the japanese way. an old book, a couple of framed pictures, and lots of white.

I haven’t put it on yet because I need your advice. do you like it?

ps. after many minutes spent doodling the folding process, I realised it was a simple tour double. just like for puff pastry!
at least I have a cute illustration.

edit. thanks for the advices. Laura you’re just so right. I need to keep the paper boat. I didn’t know how to include it, but hopefully it works this way:

Guillaume and I share this thing for unusual foods. we love to explore different flavours and textures.

whenever we go to china town, we can be spotted in the streets, sharing a weird shaped pastry.

our latest crush being a green tea moon cake.

just like the first picture of a roll, the very last can offer some surprises.

standing in front of a photo lab, not knowing what to photograph to finish my roll and get it developed, I looked up, and snapped this building, which structure I love.

things happened in such sort that there wasn’t enough space for this picture; hence the overlap with the previous one, and the redish line on the far end.

instant love. not to mention that small spot.

it’s been such a sunny week in London. and all the birds of the serpentine river seemed excited, even when the sun set.

today, I’m inspired by this blog redesign. and this amazing list of kitchen utensils.

today, I need to go to work soon. write my book for an hour or two. take pictures of the desserts we make at the capital.

what are your plans for this monday?

tasting Pierre Hermé’s macarons with Aïda.

found these two pictures on my latest roll. and I love them despite the weird colours.

sometimes, like today, everything just feels right. I woke up early, had time for a nice breakfast. work was great, with a lot of afternoon tea mise en place, some choux making, and jam pots wrapping. I’m home early, Guillaume is making us crêpes for dinner.

and the sun is sticking this time. see, it. just. feels. RIGHT.

what makes you feel right today? and for those of you who are lucky enough, have a lovely weekend!

three things I’m missing. our little trips to entrevaux, the warmth of a summer sun, and making colour palettes.

but I’m far from complaining. yesterday night, guillaume and I celebrated our first anniversary with champagne, a couple of brushette, t-bone steack with asparagus linguine, and a banana tatin.
a perfect night. and I’m looking forward to many more.

and today, if I feel brave enough to leave my bed, I will explore my favourite city in the world, namely: London.

edit. I just spotted the most perfect silkscreen print to go allow with this post. it’s from Melinda Josie and is adorable.
I’m completely trying to get one right now (thanks Ez for the find). x

for the first time in weeks, I feel that spring is just around the corner. today we woke up to a bright sun, blue sky, and no rain.

nothing feels better than a sunny day. or maybe a couple of things does, like:
one. being offered a lollipop by a new friend, in my absolute favourite flavour which I never mentioned to him.
two. spending a day off with my boyfriend, exploring china town and having one too many bubble tea.
three. getting a roll of film developed.

those three point pretty much sums up my past week. let’s hope this one is going to turn out even better!

happy march.

getting back to work was kind of exhausting, especially after the week Aïda and I spent exploring London.

right now, I dream about a walk through hyde park, a box of pierre hermé’s macarons, and an afternoon spent working on my book.

right now, I have the most gem of a boyfriend, some macarons to make at work, and a couple of posts to write for foodbeam.

what are your dreams?

ps. thank you so much for all your suggestions to my last post. I heart you!
