yesterday was a cab day. in fact, I was so tired after having worked all night on cakes and cupcakes for a photoshoot that I simply couldn’t deal with the tube.

transport luxury is good to me. plus, I got to see so many places I had never been before.

today, after a soothing sixteen hour sleep, is going to be a walk day. it’s bright and sunny out and I need some art supplies to make our very own version of London’s map.

dear friends, first off let me tell you how happy I am to have you all.

your response to the latest post – and our new HOME (love love to say this, sounds like music to my ears) – was amazing and made us so so so happy. so do the following three things:

one. getting to make cupcakes and pretty cakes for a photshoot. this also means working from 5pm to who knows when, but I could do anything for flour and sugar.

two. walking through our gorgeous neighbourhood while sipping a delicious latte from the hummingbird bakery.

three. going home and finding how cosy our flat is.

Guillaume and I are somewhat settled now. we love our flat, right in the heart of Notting Hill. we already have our favourite pub that makes the best food ever, and serves some damn spicy bloody mary.

instant love.

I also found a job which I really like although it’s far from what I’m used to. think patisserie for rainbow little ponies. the team I work with is fantastic, and I can’t help but feel happy when I walk back home with my fingers stained from touching blue food colouring.

although most of the day got spent on stuff-packing (yes, we are finally moving to London – like TOMORROW) – which I don’t particularly enjoy (and that’s and understatement) – we had the best surprises.

a new member of the family. please welcome Mister Peanut, possibly the sweetest bunny ever.

a gorgeous poster sent all the way from Sweden. oh yes, that one, made by Elisabeth for Studio Violet.

a pretty pile of lost polaroid pictures that will go straight onto our Kensington-flat naked walls.

a white guirlande, for the tree we’re planning on buying tomorrow night. any tips for buying Christmas trees in London? please.

an amazing one-colour-a-month Moleskine daily diary. I just can’t wait for 2010 to begin! let’s not rush though.

hope you had lovely surprises too on this Friday that marks a new beginning for me. I might not be able to post for a while, but I’ll make sure to think about you every day.

a list of things that make me happy, as off right now.

1. being nicknamed bibi by my mum.
2. moving to London in – what feels like – a couple of hours.
3. finding out that my camera isn’t broken. the battery simply needed charging.
4. having a hot date with my boyfriend at Damart* (hence, hot as in opposed to cold).
5. loading new film into the much much loved instax mini.
6. getting my clothes/things ready and not knowing how I’m going to stuff all this into ONE suitcase.

* getting ready for London’s freezing temperatures.

today’s to-do list makes me feel happy.

one. make soft trees (picture by Shanna Murray) using this perfect pattern. I’m thinking of a combination of white, cream, brown and red.

two. make cookies (picture by Heidi Swanson). perhaps with pumpkin, a touch of cinnamon and crushed daims. yum!

three. finish the fabric garland I started a year ago. I want it huge so I can hang it on the ceiling of our new flat.

in exactly one week, we’ll be sleeping in our new flat. in London. right now, we’re more excited than jumping bunnies.

the fact that Christmas is around might have something to do with it as well. in fact, we’ve already planned to rush to a Christmas tree patch and get one, on the day we arrive.

it will have handmade ornaments like a paper garland, frosted cinnamon biscuits, and wool pompoms.
