david and I went to the beach today after a little shopping trip to cap 3000. he filmed the waves while I took pictures of the pebbles. it feels so nice to be back home, close to the sea and to my friends.

I’ll share some pictures of that terrific evening tomorrow.

I’m finally home, and with time on my hands. great!

I uploaded the pictures I had kept inside my camera for ages, and came across these two, which reminded me of the awesome evening J. and I spent together. eating crispy crackles under a handmade cardboard tent.

this was so much fun.

monday

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I love documenting my life because I know how happy it’ll make me feel in a couple of years, when all I’ll ever have are memories. preicious memories.

however, proper journaling can seem a little daunting, so when I came across Brooke’s fantastic idea, I knew it was just the fit for me. five things a day. how pretty is that. plus it’s another good excuse to use my PoIC (and scanner, yeah to being back home!). love love.

london s/s 09 wrap up

after looking at the collections from london designers, I have noticed some trends. I am by no mean a fashion expert, but well, I love to collect silhouettes and arrange them by themes.

here I went for looks I liked. doré et argenté. volants et pièces. couleurs acidulées. transparence. neutral tones.

don’t take this as a fashion lesson. just as a notebook where I keep my favourites from London’s fashionweek.

doré et argenté

this trend I had spotted during the NYC fashion week happened to get exposure as well here in London. I think my favourite piece is the Issa skirt. but Peter Jensen and Giles Deacon’s looks are close to perfect for hot summer party nights (leaving the featherish boa at home, that is).

volants et pièces

flounces, pleats and folds. I might not know the exact name (English or French), but those neatly creased/piled fabric pieces are my most favourite thing ever this season. quite evidently, I’m in love with both Christopher Kane’s and Louise Goldin’s collection.

transparence

designers have a thing for see-through fabric this season, and so do I. in my eyes, the Roskanda Ilincic dress is one of the most beautiful pieces of London’s runways, and a close runner-up to Christopher’s embroided dresses, which made me love fashion again.

couleurs acidulées

to me summer is all about pop candy colours. clothes that make me hungry just by looking at them.
those girly dresses are simple and colourful. perfect eye candy, without looking trashy.

neutral tones

despite my love for bright colours, I’m also fond of neutral tones, that instantly give the look a comfortable and soft feel. Christopher Kane stands out for his amazing choice of hues, so do Charle Anastase’s pieces. I quite liked Nathan Jenden’s grey dress and Mario Schwab’s top and pants.

mirrors are to cry in front of

I’m in love with Johanna, the new kid. her blog, her pictures, her writing. everything just feels so right.

I have to use google translator to understand what she writes, and I’m pretty sure there is a huge loss in quality. however, every single of her words make sense to me. heal me.

“speglar är till för att gråtas framför, varför förneka det? allt saknar substans, kärlek är för förlorare.”

how we say hello

say hello to famapa and sandra’s shared blog: how we say hello. I don’t know about you, but I’m really looking forward to this.
the first images (not to talk about their respective blogs) are so promising.

ps. I’d love to have such a project going on. just need to find the right person (no easy task, trust me).

giles deacon s/s 09

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

graphic and whimsy dresses make Giles Deacon’s spring/summer collection interesting; probably in a very different way than for his previous shows though.

here, the lines are simple and body-hugging. and really, if we leave the pacman hats aside, what makes this collection special are the prints and colours.

vera wang s/s 09

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

beautiful necklines and transparent layers. both of them push me to love Vera Wang’s pieces. they totally make me wish spring was still around the corner (although I have the feeling that pumpkins might induce a mind change soon enough).

anna sui s/s 09

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

with fokloric patterns and bright colours, the latest Anna Sui collection really feels like a Mexican parade. I have a special weakness for the wool pompoms, and the gorgeous moutarde and purple dress.
